What a joy to host an evening of quizzing, laughter, and delicious bakes, raising an impressive £1,000 for The Vine Child Contact Centre in Headingley.
The funds raised will directly support The Vine Child Contact Centre. They provide a much-needed service that provides a safe environment for children to spend time with a parent or family member they no longer live with. For many families, it’s a lifeline—especially in situations where contact may have broken down or where emotions are running high.
Run by a dedicated team of volunteers, The Vine offers a calm, welcoming space for children to see not just parents, but also siblings, grandparents, and other loved ones. The centre plays a crucial role in reducing stress and conflict between separated adults by offering a managed handover and child-focused environment. It also helps to rebuild trust and connection where relationships may have become strained.
Anna Vollans, Founder of Vollans Mediation, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to support The Vine. Their work aligns closely with what we aim to do as family mediators. Like us, they put children first, help families find peaceful ways forward, and reduce the emotional toll of separation. This event was a fantastic reminder of how much people care about supporting children in our community.”
